my dealership is good about replacing the battery. they said its notoriously difficult to change out the battery without damaging the fob. if you keep your key close to your car after you park, you may be triggering the proximity sensor on the fob causing it to drain faster. Good point, I have my fob programmed to unlock and lock the car.
